FG Warns 3,598 Civil Servants Over Fake Appointment Letters, Orders Fresh Verification in August 2025 – Check Your Name

The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has directed 3,598 civil servants who failed to participate in the 2021 verification exercise to appear for a fresh re-verification between August 18 and August 28, 2025.

The Commission warned that failure to comply will be taken as evidence of possessing fake appointment letters, which could lead to dismissal from the civil service.

  2. Promotion letter(s)
  3. Gazette of appointment and confirmation
  4. Staff change letter
  5. July 2025 IPPIS payslip

The document also stated that no further extension will be granted, and failure to appear will result in being classified as having a fraudulent appointment.


FCSC’s WarningThe statement from the FCSC read:

“Any officer who fails to turn up for the exercise will be adjudged to be holding a fake letter of appointment and is, therefore, deliberately staying away to avoid detection. Those who have been to the Commission recently for the exercise need not appear again.”

It also advised officers posted out of their ministries, on secondment, transfer, or study leave, to still check their names via the provided channels.
